Since its establishment over three decades ago, AllianceTexas has focused on developing community and creating a seamless integration of work, life, and leisure. Retail has been a pivotal element in fulfilling this vision, evolving alongside the community's needs. Hillwood continues prioritizing developments that enhance connectivity and quality of life, with parks, green spaces, and walking paths fully woven into the retail experience.
A Legacy of Innovation
In 2006, Alliance Town Center opened as a 900-acre mixed-use retail destination, anchored by JCPenney, Belk Department Store, and Best Buy. Dining establishments like Cheddar’s Casual Café and Kincaid’s Hamburgers quickly followed, establishing the area as a favorite local destination, many of which are still here today.
Alliance Town Center also achieved national recognition when it earned LEED for Neighborhood Development certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, one of only two Texas projects to earn the designation at the time.
Today’s Thriving Destination
Now, Alliance Town Center stands as one of North Fort Worth’s premier shopping and dining districts. Recent additions include The Sicilian Butcher, Original ChopShop, Son of a Butcher, and Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar.
Beyond retail, Alliance Town Center integrates single-family and multifamily residential living, corporate offices, and community amenities, creating a vibrant hub for the region’s booming population.
Welcome, Guy Grivas, VP of Retail
Hillwood is pleased to introduce Guy Grivas as its new Vice President of Retail. With a wealth of experience in retail development and leasing, Grivas brings fresh leadership to Hillwood’s strategic initiatives.
“Hillwood remains committed to enhancing the retail experience by providing its residents and workforce with best-in-class dining, shopping, and lifestyle options. I’m excited to contribute to the next chapter of growth,” Grivas said.
Future Retail Developments
Hillwood’s innovative approach continues with several new retail projects:
- Harvest Town Center, located at I-35W and FM-407, recently welcomed McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A, and Chase Bank. It will feature a grocer anchor and over 40,000 square feet of peripheral retail and restaurant space, breaking ground in 2025.
- Landmark Hillwood’s 3,200-acre mixed-use development in Denton is entering its final planning phase for the initial retail kick-off at the corner of I-35W and Robson Ranch Road.
- Front 44 at Circle T Ranch in Westlake will bring a curated mix of retail, dining, fitness, and hospitality near Charles Schwab’s corporate headquarters along SH-114. Leasing for Phase I is already underway.
Shaping the Future of Retail
Grivas emphasized two key strategies driving Hillwood’s retail growth:
Placemaking: Creating environments that foster community and retail success, incorporating thoughtful design, compelling architecture, green spaces, and lifestyle amenities to enhance visitor experiences and community connections.
Mobility Innovation: Through Hillwood’s AllianceTexas Mobility Innovation Zone, cutting-edge delivery technologies are being tested to support retailers’ last-mile capabilities, boosting efficiency and omnichannel strategies.
“Our commitment to placemaking and innovation reflects Hillwood’s dedication to being good stewards of the land and enriching the communities we serve while empowering retailers to meet evolving consumer needs,” Grivas added.
With these initiatives, Hillwood is poised to redefine retail at AllianceTexas, blending technology, community, and sustainability to create destinations that stand the test of time.
